What data we collect
When you donate, Stripe collects your payment details (card number, billing name, email). PledgeFor receives only: your name (if provided), donation amount, and currency. We do not store your card number or any financial details — those are handled entirely by Stripe.
If you choose to leave a message or donate anonymously, that preference is stored alongside your donation record.
How we use your data
We use your information solely to:
- Process your donation and send you a receipt
- Display your name (if not anonymous) on the campaign supporter list
- Respond to any queries you send us
We do not sell, share, or rent your data to any third party. We do not use your email for marketing unless you explicitly opt in.
Payment processing
All payments are processed by Stripe (stripe.com), a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment data. We never see or store your full card details.
Cookies
PledgeFor does not use tracking cookies. Stripe may set cookies as part of its payment flow — these are necessary for the payment process and are governed by Stripe's own policy.
Your rights
You have the right to request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Email us at hello@pledgefor.org and we will remove your data within 7 days.
Refunds
If you wish to cancel a donation, contact us at hello@pledgefor.org within 48 hours and we will issue a full refund.
