Hunger Strike - Let Gaza Eat

My name is Marwa, a Palestinian refugee living in UK. Because of health challenges, I am unable to work — but my greatest struggle today is not my own situation. It is the desperate fight to protect my family, and especially to save Mohammed, my brother-in-law, who is still trapped inside Gaza.

Mohammed is a paramedic with the Palestinian Red Crescent, someone who has devoted years of his life to helping others. He has carried the wounded to safety, treated victims under bombardment, and helped set up a clinic for displaced families. He has been a lifeline for so many people.

Now he is the one who urgently needs help.

He was surrounded and detained for more than a month inside Al-Amal Hospital, where he endured severe torture. After his release, he attempted to flee to safety — but Egypt refused him entry without explanation. Every attempt we make to understand why is met with silence, or with indirect demands for money. Scammers have already taken advantage of our desperation, taking what little we had.

Meanwhile, Mohammed remains alone, wounded, and terrified. His wife, Noor, is sinking deeper into depression as she tries to care for their children under unbearable uncertainty. My family has already endured unimaginable loss: loved ones killed, our home destroyed, all our belongings gone. My sister lost both her job and the home she was preparing for her family. We are trying to survive, but the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming.

We cannot lose Mohammed too.

We are raising funds to secure his evacuation and help him rebuild his life once he reaches safety. A suggested breakdown is:

1. Costs for coordinating Mohammed’s exit from Gaza

This portion will support the complex and costly process of bringing him out safely — including legal support, travel arrangements, temporary lodging, and any immediate emergency needs.

2. Rebuilding his life in Egypt

The remaining funds will help Mohammed start again from nothing:

basic living expenses (food, transport, essentials)

housing setup

education or vocational training if needed

a small emergency or stability fund

These amounts may shift depending on circumstances, but every contribution will go directly toward securing his safety and rebuilding his future.

Mohammed has risked his life to save countless others. Now, we are asking for help to save his.
