Your data

Short version: we never see your card details, we don’t sell anything to anyone, and you can have your data deleted by asking.

What we collect

When you donate, Stripe collects your payment details — card number, billing name, email. PledgeFor receives only your name (if you gave one), the donation amount and the currency. We never store your card number or any financial details.

If you leave a message or choose to donate anonymously, that is stored alongside your donation record.

How we use it

We use your information only to:

• Process your donation and send your receipt
• Show your name on the campaign’s supporter list, unless you donated anonymously
• Reply to anything you write to us

We do not sell, share or rent your data to anyone. We do not email you marketing unless you have asked us to.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Stripe’s privacy policy governs all payment data.

Cookies

PledgeFor does not use tracking cookies. Stripe sets cookies as part of the payment flow; those are necessary for payments to work and are governed by Stripe’s own policy.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete any personal data we hold about you. Email hello@pledgefor.org and we’ll remove it within 7 days.

Refunds

Email hello@pledgefor.org and tell us what happened. If a campaign is found to be dishonest we refund donors from the organizer’s account. Where the money has already been withdrawn and passed on, that may not be possible — in that case we’ll give you what you need to claim it back through your bank.
